Turning Excess Restaurant Food Into Kids' Meals

If you didn’t happen to catch this recent segment on NBC’s Rock Center, please take a moment to view this very timely and important interview with Drew Matson, CEO of Darden Restaurants, who discusses Darden’s Harvest Program, their program for the donation of excess food to organizations that feed the hungry.  To date, they have donated more than 53 million pounds of excess food.  The interview is in Florida but the statistics of 1 in 4 children going to bed hungry are exactly the same in Arizona…in Maricopa County!

Waste Not is a proud local partner of Darden, collecting excess food from Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Capital Grille locations throughout metro Phoenix.
