Step-Up To The Plate for Waste NOT

SUPPORTERS DINED OUT FROM APRIL 1ST - APRIL 30TH, 2011
TO HELP WASTE NOT FEED THE HUNGRY BY SUPPORTING THEIR FAVORITE RESTAURANT! WHEN THE "WASTE NOT SPECIAL" WAS ORDERED,
50% OF THE PROCEEDS WERE DONATED TO WASTE NOT!
Media celebrities and local restaurant chefs participating in Waste Not’s 21ST annual fundraiser, Step up to the Plate for Waste Not, raised $32,000 to help feed the Valley’s hungry. The campaign, which took place throughout April, paired local television personalities with Valley restaurants in a friendly competition to see who could raise the most money to help feed the Valley’s hungry. Half of the proceeds from all Waste Not Specials sold during April benefited Waste Not.
“In this continuing economic downturn, we are thrilled to have raised $32,000. Our media partners and our restaurant partners stepped up to the plate for Waste Not with incredible support. We extend our deepest gratitude to each of them, as well as to Valley residents who made it a point to visit participating restaurants throughout the month of April. ”This collaborative support helps Waste Not continue its vital mission of feeding the hungry men, women and children of our Valley.”
Participating teams received awards at a reception held on May 13, hosted by Lon’s at the Hermosa Inn, emceed by Ron Hoon, FOX 10. The following restaurants were the top producers: 1st Place – Olive & Ivy, $13,032; Red White & Brew, $5,375 and Beckett’s Table, $3,537.

All emails were forwarded to Waste NOT, and was put into a drawing for a dinner for two!
