We value this strong commitment by US Airways and we are proud to recognize US Airways as the official airline of Waste Not!

Nina Mason Pullium Foundation

Nina Mason Pullium Charitable Trust

The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust seeks to help people in need, especially women, children and families; to protect animals and nature; and to enrich community life in the metropolitan areas of Indianapolis and Phoenix.

In the second of three grant rounds in 2010 the trust granted $1,750,000 to 28 Arizona nonprofits organizations.  We are exceedingly thankful that the Trust designated Waste Not as the recipient of a $50,000 grant for the replacement of our oldest refrigerated truck – a vehicle that had clocked thousands of miles and was requiring expensive repairs that we could no longer sustain.  Our new truck is now on the road, efficiently delivering hope and sustenance to the men, women and children in our Valley who need it most.

Waste Not has had a very fulfilling, longstanding relationship with the Trust.  In 1999 they recognized the value of Waste Not’s mission and began a supportive, guiding relationship with us. The Trust has not only provided strong financial support, including funds to purchase a new truck in 2000 – 2001, but also walked beside us through a significant capacity-building process as we became a fully-professionalized organization.

BHHS Legacy Foundation

BHHS Legacy Foundation - Supports Waste Not's Expansion Project

Formed in 2001, the BHHS Legacy Foundation and its Affiliates awarded $686,700 in grants in 2009 to organizations in the Greater Phoenix Region that provide healthcare and basic essential needs.

Recognizing the tremendous need brought about by our Valley’s economic crisis, BHHS Legacy Foundation joined forces with Waste Not to support our 2008 / 2009 expansion of our service area. In 2010 they remain steadfast in their support – covering all costs associated with our expansion to the west side of the Valley.

We are very grateful for BHHS Legacy Foundation’s partnership which has allowed us to bring hope and nutrition to many more of our neighbors in need.  Thank you.

Walmart

Walmart

Walmart and the Walmart Foundation are proud to support the charitable causes that are important to customers and associates in their own neighborhoods. The Walmart Foundation funds initiatives focused on education, workforce development, economic opportunity, environmental sustainability, and health and wellness. From Feb. 1, 2009 through Jan. 31, 2010, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation gave more than $512 million in cash and in-kind gifts globally, $467 million of which was donated in the U.S.

In response to Waste Not’s need for a second replacement truck, the Walmart Foundation has issued a challenge grant in the amount of $25,000 for the purchase of a new vehicle, asking us to find matching funds to complete the purchase within the next several months.  To date, $15,000 has been contributed and we are seeking the final balance from friends of Waste Not.

Thank you Walmart Foundation for your dedication to helping our neighbors in need.

I-ology

I-ology

I-ology is the unique, vibrant web development company that partnered with Waste Not to create our new, visually stunning and interactive website which we launched in August 2010.  Along with a grant from the Arizona Community Foundation, I-ology provided in-kind services to create a more user-friendly site which allows Waste Not to also benefit from social media platforms and on-line fundraising.

I-ology is far more than a web development company – they are an internet strategy company that provides planning and analysis to help their clients successfully grow their companies.

Thank you I-ology for embracing our organization and our mission!

Baldwin, evolving into a multi-market transportation and real estate company.  Over the last two decades alone they have donated close to $40 million to non-profit organizations – primarily in Hawaii and on the West Coast, contributing to a better quality of life in the communities in where they operate.

For the past six years, the Alexander & Baldwin Foundation's faithful annual support has helped to ensure that the most vulnerable men, women and children in our community get the nutrition they need so they can get on the road to self-sufficiency and a brighter future.  Thank you A & B for your faithful support!

Since it was founded over a century ago, Sundt has been dedicated to improving the communities where it operates. Their foundation, which focuses on the needs of disadvantaged and adults, receives most of its funding through employee contributions, which are matched by the company.  To date, they have provided more than $3.5 million in aid to community organizations in Arizona, California and Texas.

The Sundt Foundation has been working together with Waste Not since 2007 to improve the nutritional levels of disadvantaged children throughout Maricopa County. Thank you Sundt employees for your continued confidence and generosity.

Boeing

Boeing Employees Community Fund

Waste Not is grateful for Boeing’s presence in our community.  Their Employees Community Fund in Mesa collectively supports the needs of the local community through grants. Through a volunteer Board of Directors composed of Boeing employees, Mesa ECF funds programs in the areas of health, education, social services and community enrichment.

Since 1999 Boeing employees have granted Waste Not nearly $30,000 – faithfully supporting Waste Not’s deliveries so that the hungry men, women and children that our recipient agency partners feed and empower can get their nutritional needs consistently met.  We recognize your dedication to the most vulnerable in our community.  Thank you ECF.

Trends Charitable Fund

Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo is actively involved philanthropically in the local communities where they do business. Their first priority is to support programs and organizations whose chief purpose is to benefit low and moderate-income individuals and families and those that keep our communities strong, diverse and vibrant.  One of their priorities in support of social and human service organizations is meeting the basic needs of people within the community.

In 2010 Wells Fargo is helping Waste Not sustain its newly-implemented route expansion with a grant of $5,000.  When the basic needs of vulnerable people in our community are consistently met, our recipient agency partners are then able to help their clients focus on Wells Fargo’s other priorities – becoming strong, trained productive members of their communities.  Thank you Wells Fargo for your commitment to Waste Not.

We are overwhelmed the generosity of WHO employees who doubled our request – allowing Waste Not to cover the cost of fuel and oil for our fleet of refrigerated trucks for a 4-month period in 2009.  Thank you.

Trends Charitable Fund

New Truck New Truck

Trends Charitable Fund

The mission of the Trends Charitable Fund is "to support programs in need that positively impact women, children and their families where TCF can make a significant difference."

For their 2009-2009 funding cycle, TCF awarded grants totaling $300,000 to nine agencies within the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Waste Not was honored with a grant of $80,000 to support the purchase of a new truck and the salary of an additional driver for 2009. Enabling Waste Not to expand its service area is a blessing beyond measure. Our need for expansion comes at a time of greatest urgency as the economic downturn has placed unprecedented demand upon the agencies Waste Not serves. In recognizing this, TCF has truly taken ownership with Waste Not in our most vital mission of feeding the hungry men, women and children of our Valley. Our trucks are not just metal and rubber, but vehicles of hope. Their generous support will indeed make a significant difference in the number of lives we touch on a daily basis.

We extend our most heartfelt thanks to everyone at TCF!

Maracay Homes

Maracay Homes

2008 was the fourth year that Waste Not received a grant from Maracay Homes, one of the Valley’s premier homebuilders. On December 15, 2008, Waste Not received a $5,000 grant. Maracay Homes’ President Dave Bessy stresses the importance of supporting Waste Not stating, “We realize that our foremost responsibility is to build a home that our buyer is proud of and satisfied with, as well as one that we can confidently stand behind. However, our responsibility as a viable business dictates that we support our community by being an active partner that reaches beyond the boundaries of the communities we build.”

Thank you Maracay, for including Waste Not in your community outreach.
