 ‹ Back to News & Events October 17, 2008 Empty Bowls Event$20,236.00 RAISED FOR WASTE NOT! 18th Annual Empty Bowls Event was held on Friday, October 17th at the Arizona Center. Empty Bowls Events are held in honor of World Food Day, October 16th, to raise awareness of hunger on an international, national and local level. Our event was presented by the Arizona Clay Association for the benefit of Waste Not, in conjunction with the Arizona Center, Sam's Cafe and Marjon Ceramics. For a minimum of a $12.00 donation, there was a selection of thousands of beautiful handcrafted bowls filled with a choice of a delicious pasta lunch or chicken salad, provided by Sam's Cafe. Also featured was a boutique of one of a kind ceramic art.
