TEAMED UP TO PRESENT EMPTY BOWLS EVENTS AT METRO PHOENIX AJ'S LOCATIONS.

WHAT:      In honor of World Food Day, the Arizona Clay Association and AJ’s Fine Foods teamed up to present Empty Bowls events at their various locations in the Metro Phoenix area. For the third year, Valley residents participated in and enjoyed an Empty Bowls lunch by visiting one of AJ’s Fine Foods’ ten locations.  All proceeds from the lunchtime events benefited Waste Not.

COST/HOW:     For a minimum $12 donation, patrons selected their own unique, handcrafted ceramic bowl from a selection of beautiful bowls made by friends and members of Arizona Clay Association from clay donated by Marjon Ceramics.  They also received a coupon good for one of the delicious Deli Soups at AJ’s Fine Foods. The bowl of soup served as a reminder that this is often the total amount of food consumed on a daily basis by the less fortunate around the world.  Patrons keep the commemorative bowl as a reminder that someone else’s bowl is always empty.
